The joy of moving just keeps giving.

Between now and move day, I have a total of FIVE days off work. FIVE.

That's 120 hours... if you're counting.

I'm counting.

I'm also packing boxes and then realizing ONCE they're full that OMFG this is some heavy ass shit. What was I thinking? WHY DO ALL MY BELONGINGS WEIGH 50,000 POUNDS? I'm pretty sure this is where being a "packing master" has it's downsides. Yes, as a matter of fact I can pack all of our belongings in as few boxes as possible... unfortunately we're going to need a bunch of body builders to move our boxes 100 feet between point "A" and point "B."

I haven't even started on the playroom... shudder. I've only finished our bedroom and the decorative pieces between the bedroom and living room.

120 hours and counting.

  2. I've only moved once. I vowed that shoudl it ever happen again I would pay someone to do it for me or ply my friends with food and liquor to carry at least the heavy shit (b/c more than likely I wouldn't be able to afford movers).

    1. I'm very close to just packing everything and letting someone professionally move it across town. It's seriously a pain in my ass. I feel like I'm not making any sort of headway.

  3. We opted to go with more boxes, but lighter. And the master packer thing only worked for the first 10 boxes. The rest are still upstairs a year later waiting to be unpacked. ;-)

    1. This is the Husband's argument as well. More boxes, pack lighter. I dunno.
